VIDEO: Yellowstone (The Promised Land!)

Posted In: Video, Yellowstone

During my college days, I worked a couple of summers at Yellowstone National Park. It’s a really special place. My time in Yellowstone is probably what gave me the desire to go camping and explore the outdoors. The RV campgrounds of Yellowstone, surprisingly, get mixed reviews from me. Those with RV hookups are glorified parking lots. The best “real camping” are the partial and no hookup sites that are far more wooded and rustic.

What’s amazing about Yellowstone is not just the spectacular natural environment, but also the wildlife that inhabits it. Spend a few days here and you’ll quickly realize that you are no longer atop the food chain. Wolves and bears hold this honor.

To really appreciate Yellowstone, you need to lace up your hiking boots and get away from the tourists. Even a short hike a couple of miles away from the main road will accomplish this purpose.

Yellowstone is undoubtedly among our favorite places to camp in all of North America. We will go back, many times.

Here’s a video we shot in Yellowstone before the Long Long Honeymoon. I didn’t have an HD video camera at the time, but seeing these bison was cool even in good ole SD. 😀
