PHOTOS: Silver Beans & Giants

Posted In: Photos, RV Lifestyle

They say that over 70% of all Airstreams ever built are still on the road. When you consider that the company is almost 80 years old, that’s really a stunning number. Of course, we’ve seen a few that have been converted into businesses. (We documented a great one in the “Raw & Juicy” video.) There’s something about the timeless design that translates well to commercial ventures. Here’s LIV (our trailer) parked alongside a coffee shop called “Silver Bean” in Cortez, Colorado. 3beans.jpg Unfortunately, the Silver Bean had just closed up for the day, and its sole employee didn’t seem amenable to video interviews. So still photos will have to do! silverbean1.jpg  Here’s one of me and our rig. Yes, I’m actually fourteen feet tall. giantsean.jpg For no particular reason, here’s a shot of our rig in the desert. We’ve hauled this “condo on wheels” all over the continent, from the emerald waters of the Florida Keys, to the mountains of Montana, to the desert of Arizona. Hmmmm, there must be a song in there somewhere… inthedesert2.jpg  While meandering through the desert, we stopped at a placed called “Four Corners” that marks the intersection of four states: Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. It’s a tourist trap, but you can’t resist stopping. So, continuing with the “giant” theme, here’s a shot of me standing in four states at once! 4corners_sean.jpg
