I’m blogging this from my laptop, sitting in the airport.

Being different places is fun. Getting to different places? Not so much. Our travel time to Buenos Aires clocks in at almost 20 hours, and that’s assuming everything goes according to plan.

These days, we only fly when absolutely necessary. The security process is ridiculous (albeit necessary). You are practically forced to unpack and undress just to get inside the place. And matters are compounded when you are packing a small video production company in your carry-on luggage. I’ve got a laptop, two video cameras, two still camera, and a host of audio equipment — and that’s just in one bag.

And then there’s the waiting. For this journey we had a 6-hour layover in Dallas. It’s a nice airport and all, but six hours in an airport?

See? I own clothing other than t-shirts and flip-flops.

Fortunately, we met an old friend at the airport who helped us pass the time. Jay does a lot of business in South America, and it just so happened we were laying over at the same time. Although we had a small wedding in Key West, Jay and his lovely wife Katie attended as proxy representatives for ALL of our friends. It was a real treat to see Jay. Times flies when you’re hangin’ with friends.

World traveler Jay attended our wedding, and thus witnessed the dawn of The Long Long Honeymoon!

There’s some good news on the RV front. We have arranged to secure a motorhome during our visit in Buenos Aires. So we’re going to learn all about RV travel in the beautiful country of Argentina. This will be a new experience for us in more ways than one.

For all of you Airstreamers, I’m afraid our beloved aluminum icons are not readily available in Argentina. We hope to do some overseas Airstreaming later this year. For certain, Airstream has a presence in Europe and Japan.

Whenever I get the chance, I’ll post photos (and perhaps some raw video) in my Sidebar Blog space.
