The Long, Long Honeymoon is a video blog — an online video show, if you prefer. To date, we have created over 80 short films (just for kicks, let’s call ’em “webisodes’) that are, on average, about three minutes in length. If I pull out our trusty slide-rule and apply my limited mathematical skills, that equates to over three hours of content! It’s like an RV-inspired Lord of the Rings, albeit on a slightly tighter budget. And with far less violence.
With “Rough Cuts,” we’re going to try something a little different.
We started this blog by posting simple video snippets of our RV travels. But things transmogrified into more complex films involving multiple shots, cameras, microphones, and all sorts of headache-inducing technology.
Don’t get me wrong; traveling around the United States and creating these short films has been a lot of fun. But in the spirit of blogging exploration, we’d like to try something a little different that we can produce more frequently.
A “Rough Cut” video might be shot anywhere — in our production studio, in our Airstream, in a restaurant, or on a beach. It will probably be short (1-2 minutes) and it will address a topic of some sort. We’ll answer questions, we’ll review RV products, and we may just indulge in a little old-fashioned video-blogging blather.
It’s an experiment. If we like it, great! If not, errrr… You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.
Got a question about RV-ing? Send it to me (seanmichael@aol.com) and who knows… maybe we’ll answer it!
