Airstream has released a special concept trailer in Europe. The 22-foot trailer has been designed in partnership with Mini. It can be towed by a Mini Cooper S.
Apparently this RV has been created with the surfer set in mind. It’s got a waterproof interior, and the side folds down (!) to allow easy access. It also appears to have fully integrated surfboard storage.
The interior was decked out by furniture producers Republic of Fritz Hansen. It’s a streamlined affair (a couple of chairs and a table) and finished with green and black accents.
Of course, this is the kind of concept vehicle that will undoubtedly remain a concept. Its purpose is to turn heads and start conversations. On these points, at least, it has succeeded! It does drive home the message that Airstreams are both stylish and easy to tow.
I really like Mini Coopers. They’re small and sporty. I’ve often thought that Mini Coopers would make ideal “toad” vehicles for folks with motorhomes.
But using a Mini Cooper as your tow vehicle? That’s creative.
I don’t know if I will ever be in that type of RV’n
I tow my 35′ 5ver with a 3500hd Chevy. We’ve officially dubbed Roman.
I can hear Tim Allen now.
Yeah, this one is more of a metallic tent than an RV! It would probably fit inside your fifth wheel’s living room. 😉
Love your site, my wife and I have dreamed of doing what you have done. We travel often and as far as possible. What really made me laugh is we have some good pictures somewhere of our 16′ DWR airstream with our Mini Cooper S right in front of it to look like it was towing it! However, we have since expanded our Airstream to a 27′ International so the Mini would just look, well, Mini in comparison. Keep doing what you’re doing, we love it!
