This video is the “Magical Mystery Tour” of generator reviews. (Do Beatles analogies still resonate with anyone out there?) I’m talking about the album, not just the song. The video is a little weird and uneven. It was plagued by a couple of memorable production issues. One lesson learned: it’s pointless to perform any kind of “noise test” in the middle of a forest during cicada season. Cicadas in full song are louder than 60 decibels!
And in a bizarre twist of fate, a couple of days ago while editing the video we suffered a power outage. Yes, we used this generator to power our plucky, aging PC to get the final video render done. As for the unit itself, it’s a lot like our other Champion. I’m not a huge fan of the radiant yellow paint job, and I wish it was a few decibels more quiet – but it’s hard to complain about the overall value for money. It’s a well designed product with a great feature set, and seems to do everything it promises. And in its defense, it’s quieter than a bunch of cicadas.
