We’ve been enjoying some incredible hospitality at Airstream headquarters in Jackson Center, Ohio. Today we met with Larry Huttle, Chairman of the company. Mr. Huttle has been with Airstream some 30 years. He’s personable, knowledgeable, and a true enthusiast. In fact, after our meeting we saw him depart the property with a 34-foot Airstream in tow.

soooo… did he invite you to dinner… and make you a offer you can’t refuse???? I don’t see no cigarrrr… yet
oh ya!!!!….. love the custom taylored design’er blue pants…. and shirt too… … least the shoes and shirt kinda matched… WARDROBE!!!!…….grin…
Ha! GMAs, with regard to the wardrobe, what can I say…. This is just about as formal as you’ll ever see me dressed. I am allergic to neckties. 🙂 Fortunately Airstream is focused on the stuff that really matters — exactly what you’d want and expect from such a company!
As far as the cigar, maybe we’ll save that for our big Hollywood theatrical debut. Wait, is smoking allowed in those fancy limos you like to ride around town? 😀
For the price they charge…. you bet… I have been their… and a lot more happens inside too… grin… Dog… likes the heated leather seats and the doggie treats the drivers all have as standard trinkits on board. Its all show time…
Well then if that is what your going to wear all the time.. you need to keep you indy hat on… too… although you might be more confortable in some of them “Cable guy ” farmer John ones…jeans… that have a front on them too…
Really… no sport shirt or slacks ? Hmmmm… WARDROBE… will Someone get this guy some real pants and sport shirt… please….
One wants to make a good impression when one first is identified…. sometimes clothing makes the man… appear better than … well you know the rest…
Hey if I keep getting nagged bout my old rag tag blue jeans…( X.. keeps throwing ’em away… but lays out Sunday go to meeting duds… when I just am out working…) Then I have to share it with you too… ( I am sure you get your share from Kristie too… grin) But, note the man in the middle… and the gal off to his left… ahhhuuummm then their is …. farmer john???
Ok Ok… so wear the indy hat and it should be a improvement… geeezzzzz…
Hey where is the Long H ball caps… ??? I see shirts but, no hats… ball or boonie kind… hmmmm….
so did he invite you to dinner at his place???
I will concede this much — I probably should be wearing the Indy hat! Although it’s actually not an Indy hat, it’s an Argentinian gaucho hat … that’s inspired by the Australian Outback style. We call our company “Walkabout Production Group” so the hat makes a lot of sense. Plus, it really is functional.
When we started, I was touting an old-fashioned pith helmet…. While I love the pith helmet, I’ve since discovered these other hats that are truly functional and may be regularly worn in public. My latest favorite hat is made by a Canadian company called Tilley — it’s the beige hat I’m wearing in Quebec. I must say that it’s a great hat — repels rainfall, harsh sunshine, wind…. it’s lightweight and cool in hot climates. It was worn by no less than the late, great Sir Edmund Hillary. So that has been my hat of choice lately.
We had lunch with Mr. Huttle at the finest place in town — a restaurant called Verandah. Jackson Center is a really small town (population in the hundreds) but it has this excellent restaurant right on the main drag.
I sure hope ya gave him a “moon” t!
Yep, we got him a Long Long Honeymoon t-shirt! We’ve been getting a great response from the shirts, thanks mucho for your support. I think I’m gonna start a “photo wall” here on the blog for pics of people wearing their LLH t-shirts. 😀
No boonie hats?
I like the idea of boonie hats!
I think we will start with additional Long Long Honeymoon t-shirts though (because everyone wears t-shirts!) and grow into other areas.
This brings back memories from about 23 or 24 years ago, I was 11 years old,and my grandparents took me to a Wally Byam rally in Lake Placid,NY. On our way, we stopped at Jackson Center and toured the facility. They are both passed on now,but they are the reason why my wife and I just bought our first trailer!! Good times and good memories!!
Chris, I think Larry has worked at Airstream for around 30 years, so he was probably there when you visited with your grandparents!
That’s nice that you have shared those memories with your grandparents. I think RV camping often gets passed along from one generation to the next.
